Our Activities

We create and seek out promising practices and new evidence for improving student learning, closing achievement gaps, and helping more students graduate.

LGBTQIA2S+ Student Success Symposium

Inspired by conversations at our 2022 CSU Student Success Network Conference and ongoing conversations in the CSU, the Network is excited to announce that it is organizing a two-day, in-person LGBTQIA2S+ Student Success Symposium, March 7-8, 2024 in Sacramento, for LGBTQIA2S+ focused student services professionals, researchers, faculty, and students from across the CSU.

Convenings

Convenings provide opportunities for middle leaders in the CSU to come together across institutions and roles to focus on issues of practice that affect students.

Grant Program

The Network’s Equity in Action Grant Program seeks to invest resources back into the system to identify, understand, and disrupt inequities, as well as focusing on opportunities for students to learn, engage, progress, and complete courses on time. The intention of this program is to draw faculty, staff, students, and middle level administrators to support innovative thinking, research, and evidence-based practices that lead to institutional change, which specifically address equity-related challenges.

Middle Leadership Academy

Forge deeper relationships with colleagues and develop skills for making change from where you sit as a member of the Middle Leadership Academy. The year-long Academy brings together campus-based teams in a collaborative and supportive environment to work on problems of practice. Together, teams identify common challenges faced by students, develop a shared vision to improve practices, and communicate about what works (and what doesn’t).

Applied Research

Network researchers explore different aspects of students’ experiences in the CSU. Findings are shared with CSU stakeholders to help bring about mutual understanding and evidence-based change.
