Why focus on data and information in regional data partnerships?

For the purposes of this convening, regional cross-system partnerships are defined as those focusing on student learning, engagement, progression, and success across education systems. In order to meet their goals and objectives, partnerships need data and information. Data and information are particularly important when addressing equity imperatives in the system. This convening will help participants from the CSU understand the types and foci of regional partnerships across the state, and ways to use information to strengthen their ability to close equity gaps.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

This convening provided an opportunity to engage around current data and information sharing in the context of regional education partnerships, including the challenges and benefits of participating in these efforts.

Participants will:

  • Understand a range of different goals, objectives, and structures of regional cross-system partnerships, their potential value, and the roles that the CSU can play within them.
  • Identify strategies that will encourage their productive and effective engagement in regional education partnerships, focusing specifically on the use of effective data and information sharing to support equity-based inquiry.
  • Collectively identify common opportunities and challenges faced by the CSU within regional education partnerships, particularly with regard to data and information sharing.
