We are excited to announce the inaugural Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Middle Leadership Academy (AMLA). The AMLA is a joint venture between the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (CSU ASAP) and the Network. Based off of the Network’s yearlong Middle Leadership Academy and tailored to support CSU ASAP grantees, the AMLA brings together campus-based teams of CSU students, student affairs staff, researchers, and faculty in a collaborative and supportive environment to work on common issues related to AANHPI student learning, engagement, progression and completion.
The AMLA will be grounded in a problem-based learning model that motivates participants to “lead from the middle” as they explore and apply strategies to develop and implement on their campuses, with a focus on closing opportunity and outcomes gaps for AANHPI students.
There will be two opportunities to join the AMLA next summer:
June 3 – 6, 2025 or June 17 – 20, 2025
All campuses will be invited to apply for funds from CSU ASAP. The RFP will be announced shortly. As part of their grant, grantees are expected to send a team of up to four to one of the two AMLA sessions in June 2025.
